Booking Terms and Conditions

Thank you for booking a course with us.

By making a payment for a course in full or by instalments, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

Payment Options

The following forms of payment are accepted:

  • Cheque payable to Newton Rigg Ltd

  • For online banking or BACS Transfer please quote your surname as reference and send payment to:

    • Account Name: Newton Rigg Ltd

    • Barclays Bank Sort Code: 201847

    • Account Number: 5338 8816.

Payment Schedule

Fees under £400 are payable, in full, on receipt of the offer email, confirmation of booking or invoice.

Fees over £401 have two payment options:

Payment in full:

20% deposit on receipt of the offer email followed by full payment at least 4 weeks before the course start date.

Payment in 3 instalments:

20% deposit on receipt of the offer email followed by 3 monthly payable on the last day of the first, third and fifth month following the course start date.

Cancellation Policy

A. I’ve changed my mind about the course and want to cancel it:

Under this refund policy and under guidance of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your booking within a 14-day cooling off period at the following terms:

1. Any purchase cancelled within 14 days of payment will be eligible for a full refund (unless you have started the course).

2. If your course starts within the 14-day period you will still have the right to cancel, but you will be charged an administration fee of 20% of the full value of the course.

3. If the course is provided in full within the 14-day period your right to cancel will be lost.  

B. I’ve changed my mind about the course and the 14-day cooling-off period has passed:

1. If it is more than 1 month before the course start date you can transfer free of charge to any other course/date within the next 6 months (balance to pay for more expensive course). For cancellations, a full refund of fees paid will be given. However, an administration fee of £50 (plus VAT) per delegate will be charged and deducted from the refund.

2. If it is between one calendar month and two weeks before the course start date you can transfer free of charge to any other course/date within the next 6 months (balance to pay for more expensive course). For cancellations, a full refund of fees paid will be given and an administration fee of £100 (plus VAT) per delegate will be charged

3. If it is between one week and two weeks before the course start date you can transfer to any another course/date within the next 6 months for £100 (plus VAT) per delegate, plus any difference in course fees (balance to pay for more expensive course). No refund is payable for cancellation unless there are extenuating circumstances (to be determined at the sole discretion of NR Training- see clause E).

4. For cancellations less than one week before the course start date no refunds or transfers will be given, unless there are extenuating circumstances (to be determined at the sole discretion of NR Training- see clause E).

5. If you transfer your booking to another course, you will not be entitled to any refund if you then cancel attendance at that other course. Only one transfer is permitted per course per delegate – the fee will be charged as above.

C. I’ve started the course and no longer can, or want, to attend:

1. For courses with fees under £200:

No refund will be given.

2. For courses with fees over £201:

Any withdrawal from a course, once started, must be discussed with your tutor and confirmed in writing.

2.2 For withdrawals within 2 weeks after the course start date, or 2 sessions (whichever is sooner), 50% of the full course fee will be refunded (if payment has been made in full). For those paying by instalments, 50% of the full course fee will be payable on cancellation. After this period no refunds will be given, except under extenuating circumstances (to be determined at the sole discretion of NR Training- see clause E). Please ensure you discuss these circumstances with your tutor.

2.2 In the event of non-attendance without any discussion with your tutor or written confirmation, where payment has been received, there shall be no refund and in the event of non-attendance where the fee has not been received, the fee will remain due and payable.

D. NR Training has cancelled my course:

1. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a course we will process a full refund of the course fee or transfer your booking to an alternative date. NR Training accepts no liability if a course is cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond our reasonable control resulting from an Act of God, governmental regulation, fire, war, terrorist activity or civil commotion.

2. If we have to cancel a course our liability in the event of cancellation is limited to a full refund of the course fee only.  We will not refund any travel, hotel or equipment costs associated with the cancellation of a course.

Please note:

3. NR Training reserves the right to reschedule any course with 48 hours’ notice to learners.

4. NR Training reserves the right to change the tutor stated on the course page with 48 hours’ notice to learners.

E. Refunds

1. NR Training is aware that in order to reduce the spread of the COVID virus you may need to cancel a course during the COVID pandemic. NR Training will always view this type of cancellation with due regard to your consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Our refund polices, as outlined above, are applicable for the following COVID-related ‘extenuating circumstances’:

  • restrictions imposed by local lockdown laws

  • specific restrictions imposed by local authorities under their legal lockdown powers

  • mandatory self-isolation following a direction from a public health officer

  • mandatory self-isolation when returning to the UK from certain countries which may affect your ability to attend a course during the self-isolation period

2. All other extenuating circumstances will be reviewed individually.

3. All refund requests are required in writing and should either be sent to support@nrtraining.co.uk or posted to: Newton Rigg Ltd, Newton Rigg Estate, Penrith, CA11 0AH

4. Any refund may take up to 30 days to process.

5. Refunds will only be made once the initial payment has cleared into NR Training’s bank account and will only ever be made to the person who made the initial payment.

Before you attend

1. It is your responsibility to ensure you or the participant(s) who you have booked onto the relevant course(s) are fit, medically sound and otherwise able to fully and safely participate.

2. Failure to meet any of these requirements may result in you being asked to leave the course or you may not be able to successfully complete the course.

3. No refunds will be given in such circumstances.

Course prerequisites

1. It is your responsibility to ensure you and/or any participant(s) you book onto the course hold the correct prerequisites when the course commences and you/they bring evidence of this on the first day of the course (if required). 

2. If you and/or any participant(s) you book onto the course fail to produce the correct prerequisite information we reserve the right to cancel your/their involvement in the course without liability.

3. No refunds will be given in such circumstances.

On your course start date

1. It is your responsibility to make arrangements to arrive at the course location on time. 

2. Full course details including start date, start time and location will be sent to you in your course joining instructions.

3. NR Training may not be able to accommodate late arrivals as it may disrupt other course participants. 

4. You must bring with you government issued photographic identification (eg. passport, Driver's licence).

5. You will be informed in advance of your course start date of any equipment, clothing or other items necessary you are required to bring for participation in the relevant course.
