We are delighted to be hosting these FREE programmes for the North Cumbria Recovery College.

The NCRC have a wide range of FREE courses across Cumbria so please visit their website to find a programme near you.

Use these FREE sessions to get support for a variety of common mental health concerns

Women’s Group, Drop-in Sessions, Emotional Resilience, Drawing and Talking, Managing Stress and Worry, Assertiveness and Decider Life Skills

Women’s Group

This group is an opportunity for women to learn strategies for understanding how to better manage their mental health.

Dates: Every Wednesday, 1-2pm

Emotional Resilience

These sessions will help you to understand and manage your own resilience and increase understanding about the resilience of others. You will learn how wellbeing is affected and the positive changes that can be made to improve wellbeing. Additional sessions will be included to work on making changes and motivation to change with regards to improving your own wellbeing. You may want to bring a pen and paper to make notes.

Dates: Wednesday 7th Nov-7th Dec , 2-3pm

Drawing and Talking

These sessions introduce you to a fun and light-hearted way to enjoy drawing for wellbeing. The process of telling a story about your drawing, answering questions about your drawing and asking others about their drawings inspires creativity and promotes mindfulness. You may need a piece of paper and a pen or pencil to draw with. These sessions are for all abilities.

Dates: Wednesday 7th Nov-7th Dec , 3-4pm

Drop-in Session

These sessions are provided as an opportunity to pop in and meet the team, to find out more about what we do and hopefully enrol on a course or two.

Dates: Every Wednesday, 4-5pm

Managing Stress and Worry

These sessions are provided as an opportunity to pop in and meet the team, to find out more about what we do and hopefully enrol on a course or two. You may want to bring a pen and paper to make notes.

Dates: Wed Sept 14th, 21st, 28th, Oct 5th, 12th, and 19th 2022,

Assertiveness

Would you like to be more assertive? Attend this course to find out what assertiveness is and isn’t; we will explore the different elements of assertive behaviours, the course is beneficial to those wishing to improve confidence in everyday life. You may want to bring a pen and paper to make notes.

Decider Life Skills

The Decider Life Skills were designed to enable you to make effective changes to help manage distress, regulate emotion, increase mindfulness, promote effective communication and to live a more skilful, less impulsive life. They are delivered in an original, fun and creative style, using role plays, props and imagery that makes them easy to learn and teach. The demonstrations bring the 12 skills to life. You may want to bring a pen and paper to make notes. The Decider Life Skills A5 booklets are on sale in sessions for £3.00, if you’d like to purchase one to make notes in.
