This applicator course (PA2f) is suitable for those applying pesticides using weed wipers and wick applicators. They are ideal for using on rushes, bracken and areas of large weed infestation where having direct contact with the target is far more effective.
PA1 must have been successfully completed before taking this course
Course overview:
Anyone who uses a professional pesticide product should not use that pesticide or give instruction to others on its use unless they have received adequate instruction, training and guidance in its correct use. Obtaining a Certificate of Competence is the best way of demonstrating that you are trained to use pesticides and will confirm occupational competence. This legislation applies to all users e.g. agriculture, horticulture, etc.

Course Content
Knowledge of the sprayer
Interpret product label
Check the sprayer
Calibrate the sprayer
Prepare and add pesticide to tank
Carry out an environmental risk assessment
Apply the pesticide

Entry Requirements
Candidates must first achieve PA1 (City & Guilds Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides) before they can be assessed on this unit. Evidence of this will be requested
The minimum age limit for Candidates taking Certificates of Competence is 16 years. There is no upper age limit.

A Type 5/6 Coverall,
Pair of nitrile gloves (min of 0.5mm thick by 300mm long)
Safety footwear/wellies
